Why the Name Change?
As a privately owned, family-run veterinary hospital, we have always prioritized the health and happiness of our patients and the trust of their families. When Dr. Martinez bought Animed in 2023, he formed the legal entity of Castlerock Veterinary. The decision to rebrand and change our name stems from our desire to embrace a fresh identity while honoring the enduring values that have guided us since the beginning. Castlerock Veterinary Hospital was chosen to represent stability, strength, and care—qualities that mirror our commitment to providing exceptional services for your furry family members. As a point of trivia, the name Castlerock holds great sentimental value related to Dr. Martinez’ many years spent in Colorado.
While our name is changing, one thing remains steadfast: our dedication to you and your pets. Aside from our name, not much will be changing. We will remain the privately owned hospital that you have come to know and trust, with the same team of experienced professionals who care deeply about the well-being of every animal that comes through our doors.
The Transition Period
We understand that changes can sometimes feel overwhelming, and we want to assure you that this transition will be as seamless as possible. For the time being, our sign on the front of the building will continue to display “Animed Pet Hospital” (too costly to change at this time!). We are taking thoughtful steps to ensure that you feel comfortable and supported throughout this process.
Looking Ahead
The name Castlerock Veterinary Hospital symbolizes a new chapter in our journey, but our mission remains unchanged. We will continue to provide the highest standard of veterinary care in a welcoming environment that feels like home. And now that Dr. Martinez is established in the community, he plans to dig in for the long haul and hopes he can serve as “the other family doctor” for many years to come.
As a privately owned hospital, we are not beholden to corporate shareholders, or a private equity backed board of directors. We endeavor to offer the highest standard of medicine at a fair price, in a setting that is comfortable and welcoming to pets and their human families. I recently lost my sister and moved in with my brother in-law to help with the care of my sister’s 10 yr old yorkie and their 2 yr old 140 lb Rottweiler Tank whom would NOT go to the vet. Dr Martinez not only made it convenient for us, he is reasonably priced. During a difficult time when most people take advantage, Dr Martinez is honest and kind, and only has you do what is absolutely necessary. Unlike those other “emergency clinics” that I have made the mistake of going to multiple times prior that cost 250$ just to walk in the door. I am forever grateful to Dr Martinez and the girls for taking my panic calls and listening to me ramble and cry when I thought something was seriously wrong with the little dog Ryder. They are the best!
We’ve been bringing our 5-year-old 75 lb mix, Thor, to Animed Pet Hospital since he was a 3-month-old pup, and we couldn’t imagine taking him anywhere else. Dr. Martinez is wonderful, patient, thorough, and great at explaining everything in a way that makes us feel confident and informed. The staff is truly what makes this place feel welcoming. Greta, Dani, Amanda, Kelsey, and Vivien are always very kind, and so caring with Thor. Animed Pet Hospital consistently goes above and beyond, and we’re grateful for the love and attention they give Thor. Highly recommend!
My cat Licorice is a client of Dr Martinez and licorice is grateful for Dr. Martinez. Dr Martinez and staff have been wonderful I have been dealing with Amanda and Vivian and they both have been so patient and helping me step by step. Dr Martinez is the best called me and explained everything to me. Dr. Martinez and staff knows how we worry about our fur baby and encourages you to call with any questions and concerns. Dr. Martinez and all the staff are wonderful treating our dog for any matter, from routine shots to anything else that may arise. We have been going there a long time. This is our fourth pet to be taken there.
